ABOUT
BACHMAN & BACHMAN

Two musicians. Different in their own ways, yet united not only by their enjoyment of playing music together, but by much more. After all, they are father and son. And both guitarists, singers, and successful songwriters.

You'll know Randy from his success with the Guess Who and BTO. With hits like "Takin' Care of Business", "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet", "Let It Ride", "These Eyes", "Laughing", and so many more, his music has formed the soundtrack of hundreds of thousands of lives, in Canada and around the world.

You might also know him from his time hosting the long-running CBC Radio Show "Vinyl Tap". And you might know his son Tal from his Juno Award-winning 1999 album, which spawned the global hit, "She's So High", or from his co-hosting with Randy of the Sirius XM show, "Musical Mystery Tour", or his past film/TV appearances on "Melrose Place", "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", and Bill Maher's documentary Religulous.

For this special concert series, Randy and Tal will be presenting acoustic versions of some of their hit songs, along with some of the new songs they've written together, slated for release soon. Along the way, they'll be sharing never-before-heard stories about their experiences as father and son in music: life, loss, love, estrangement, reconciliation, failure, success, and more.

In particular, they'll be sharing the story of how Randy and Tal (with crucial help from Tal's wife, Koko) managed to find and recover Randy's special "magic guitar" -the Gretsch guitar he wrote all his hits on-after it was stolen from a Toronto hotel room almost fifty years ago. It's a story worthy of a documentary (which is being produced right now), featuring amateur internet sleuthing, a journey to Japan, good faith trust, and-well, they'll fill in the rest during the show.

Randy and Tal also plan on trying something new-a reprise of Johnny Carson's old TV show trick, "Stump the Band", where they'll take a song request or two from the audience and try to play it live onstage in front of everyone. They might even take a few questions from the audience.

After three years of Covid lockdowns, they're looking forward to making their shows a special evening about human connection. Randy and Tal will be supported by Tal's wife, Koko, on drums, and Nik Faraguna on bass guitar.

Join Bachman & Bachman for an intimate, revealing, one-of-a-kind evening with two Canadian musical treasures, touring together as a genuine duo for the first time.
